The Roswell Rayguns were a fictitious basketball team created in 2002 by Nike for a memorable television commercial that aired during the NBA Playoffs that year. The latter half of the upper is finished off in the same sturdy material, this time in orange, in reference to the Rayguns’ team uniform colors. The Rayguns’ basketball logo is embroidered on the lateral side of the heel below the yellow canvas overlay containing “Nike Air” branding. Black shoe laces are layered over a white mesh tongue that mimics the look of a basketball jersey. An orange overlay with additional Nike insignia graces the top of the tongue.
